Wet Leg Debuts Songs from Sophomore Album

The British indie-rock band took the stage during the inaugural episode of the international spinoff to perform two tracks from their most recent album, Moisturizer. Released in 2025 as the follow-up to their 2022 self-titled debut, the album has received significant critical acclaim. Moisturizer was ranked at No. 36 on the list of "The 50 Best Albums of 2025" and was also recognized as one of Rolling Stone’s "100 Best Albums of 2025."

During the broadcast, the group first performed the single "Mangetout," which is the fourth single from the album. The track is Grammy-nominated and was included on Billboard’s list of the 20 best U.K. and Ireland songs of 2025. For their second performance of the night, the band delivered a rendition of the album's lead single, "Catch These Fists."

The commercial success of Moisturizer was highlighted by its chart performance, debuting at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and reaching No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the album earned three nominations at the 2026 Grammys, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.

Series Premiere Highlights and Cast Details

The debut of Saturday Night Live UK was hosted by SNL alumna Tina Fey. During her opening monologue, Fey addressed the audience regarding the historic nature of the premiere.

"It’s an absolute honour and kind of historic. Guys, I am the youngest person to ever host SNL UK!"

— Tina Fey

The monologue featured surprise appearances from several notable figures, including actor Michael Cera, Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan, and British talk show host Graham Norton. The series, which is an international spinoff of the long-running NBC program created by Lorne Michaels, recorded over 220,000 viewers on Sky for its debut episode, according to figures reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The inaugural cast for the UK series consists of Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young. While the show airs on Sky TV in the United Kingdom, it became available for streaming in the United States on Peacock starting March 22.

Upcoming Episodes and Original SNL Schedule

The SNL UK production has already confirmed the host and musical guest pairings for its next two installments. On March 28, Jamie Dornan will host the program with musical guest Wolf Alice. For the following episode, there are conflicting reports regarding the broadcast date: while one source indicates the show will air on April 2, others state it is scheduled for April 4. This episode will feature host Riz Ahmed and musical guest Kasabian.

Meanwhile, the original Saturday Night Live in New York is currently in its 51st season and is on a three-weekend hiatus. The U.S. version is set to return on April 4 with Jack Black as the host and Jack White as the musical guest. Other musical guests featured during the current U.S. season have included Harry Styles, Gorillaz, Geese, and A$AP Rocky.

Wet Leg Future Tour Dates and Festivals

Following their appearance on the London-based series, Wet Leg is scheduled to return to the United States for a series of major festival performances and a headlining tour. The band is booked to appear at Coachella, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands. Their U.S. tour is officially set to launch on April 15 at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California. Earlier in the year, on February 5, 2026, lead vocalist Rhian Teasdale was seen performing with the band at the Laneway Festival at Western Springs Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.
