History
There are two bands by this name: a psychedelic/garage band from Montreal, Quebec and an Australian emo band. As per lastfm policy, please DO NOT delete references to either band.
1) Ellison released their sole, self-titled album in 1971. Little is known about the band. However the music has been described as "great guitar work and a real downer vibe that gives the album a scary intensity" (Freak Emporium). The music has a late period garage rock vibe with some use of spooky sound effects and tight playing. The band were francophones and the idiosyncratic English of tracks such as "Winter Slutch" (Winter Slush) and "Strawberry Pain" (Strawberry Rain) give it an additional charm. Since its cd reissue by Gear Fab records, it has become a favourite of psych rock fans.
