During a performance at Boston's Fenway Park on Sunday, August 2, the Zac Brown Band celebrated a major milestone in their touring history. The concert marked the group's 15th consecutive sold-out show at the legendary venue. To commemorate the achievement, frontman Zac Brown announced a massive giveaway that surprised the more than 37,000 fans in attendance. The surprise was revealed just before the band performed their hit song “Same Boat.” Brown took a moment to address the crowd, comparing the scale of the gesture to something the late Jimmy Buffett might have considered "crazy." Every person in the stadium was gifted a free cruise vacation for two people aboard the Margaritaville at Sea vessel.

According to a press release, the collective gift is valued at over $40 million. This figure represents what is being described as the largest audience gifting event in the history of live entertainment. Fans who attended the record-breaking show will be able to redeem their vacations on select Margaritaville at Sea sailings over the next year.

The giveaway was organized in collaboration with Margaritaville at Sea, a cruise line formed through a partnership between Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville brand. Christopher Ivy, the Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea, released a statement regarding the logistics of the surprise and the band's vision for their supporters.

The Love & Fear Tour and Ongoing Giveaways

The Fenway Park performance is a key stop on the band’s Love & Fear Tour. This 27-show trek across the United States launched in July at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is scheduled to run through November. The tour is named after the group's eighth studio album, Love & Fear, which was released in December. Other scheduled stops on the trek include two shows at Red Rocks in Colorado and two performances at Forest Hills Stadium in New York.

While the Fenway Park giveaway was a stadium-wide event, the group is continuing to offer cruise-related prizes throughout the remainder of the tour. At each of the other 27 tour stops, the band is giving away four cruises per show. These winners will receive a trip on the Beachcomber boat, which is set to debut in January 2027. The Beachcomber will feature Same Boat, a curated live-music venue at sea that was co-designed by Brown. The venue's name is a tribute to Brown’s 2021 collaboration with Jimmy Buffett.

Zac Brown’s relationship with the late Jimmy Buffett has been a recurring theme in the band's recent activities. In 2024, the group performed as part of a Jimmy Buffett tribute concert held at the Hollywood Bowl. During that event, Brown premiered a new song titled “Pirates & Parrots,” which was written in honor of the late musician.
