Documenting the Skeletour Live Ritual

Captured live on 16mm film, "2 Big To Rig" (also referred to as "2 Big 2 Rig") documents the band’s massive "Skeletour" world tour. The film was recorded during two sold-out nights at the Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City. The production aims to transport viewers through time and space, placing them in the center of a crowd of nearly 40,000 fans who attended those performances in September 2025.

In contrast to the band's 2024 global box office hit "Rite Here Rite Now," this second feature film focuses exclusively on the Ghost live ritual. The footage includes behind-the-scenes interludes that showcase the crew members who bring the band’s theatrical vision to life each night. Notably, the film provides the only professional pro-shot footage of frontman Papa V Perpetua and his coven of Nameless Ghouls from the entirety of their phone-free tour.

The film is described as a "love letter" to the fans who have shared in the ritual. It was created with the intention of sharing the "Skeletour" experience with followers in territories where staging the elaborate show was not logistically feasible. It also serves as a document for the fans who held tickets for the first of three planned Mexico City dates, which was ultimately canceled due to illness, leaving only two performances to be captured.

Chart Success and the Papa V Perpetua Era

The concert film features material spanning all six of the band's studio albums. This includes performances of tracks from the 2025 global No. 1 album "Skeletá", as well as non-LP fan favorites such as "Mary On A Cross", "Kiss The Go-Goat", and "The Future Is A Foreign Land".

In May 2025, the album "Skeletá" reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart. During its first week of release in the United States, it earned 86,000 equivalent album units. According to Billboard data, 77,000 of those units consisted of traditional album sales, with vinyl purchases accounting for more than 44,000 copies. This milestone made "Skeletá" the first hard rock album to hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 since AC/DC’s "Power Up" in 2020. The current era of the band is fronted by the character Papa V Perpetua, who was first introduced to fans in the music video for the single "Satanized".

The Skeletour World Tour Timeline

The title "2 Big To Rig" references the conclusion of the "Skeletour" in February 2026, following a run of 70 shows across North America, Europe, and Mexico. The tour’s European leg began on April 15, 2025, in Manchester, United Kingdom, and concluded on May 24, 2025, in Oslo, Norway. The 2025 North American leg launched on July 9 in Baltimore, Maryland, and wrapped up on August 16 in Houston, Texas.

The 2026 North American leg kicked off on January 21 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, and concluded on February 23 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. During this final leg, the band was forced to cancel three performances in late January—specifically January 24 in Knoxville, January 25 in Charlotte, and January 26 in Greenville—due to state of emergency declarations in Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
