The Twilight Sad

The Twilight Sad is an indie rock band formed in Kilsyth, Scotland, in late 2003. The current lineup consists of James Alexander Graham on vocals, Andy MacFarlane on guitar and keyboards, and Mark Devine on drums.

The band's initial approach involved creating lengthy, experimental pieces of music for their early gigs. They utilized a wide array of instruments and sound sources, including guitars, bass, drums, theremin, tape loops from films and old songs, effects pedals, toy keyboards, thumb pianos, saws, and computer game sounds. This eclectic mix was part of their effort to discover and develop a unique sonic identity. Following a few initial performances, the band opted for a more reclusive approach, focusing on songwriting and studio work.
