Grand Ulena is an instrumental trio hailing from St. Louis, Missouri. The band formed in 2002 and features bassist Darin Gray (known for his work with On Fillmore and formerly Dazzling Killmen), guitarist Chris Trull (of Darling Little Jackhammer), and drummer Danny McClain (a member of Johnny Angel and Arrmy of Robots). Since their inception, they have been captivating audiences with their unique sound.
Their debut album, Gateway to Dignity, serves as a powerful synthesis of various musical influences accumulated over 15 years. The record draws from rock, rhythm, jazz, and their more experimental offshoots, creating a sound that is both challenging and compelling.
