Gallon Drunk is a London-based band comprising James Johnston (vocals, guitar, organ, piano, harmonica), Terry Edwards (saxophone, organ), Leo Kurunis (bass), and Ian White (drums).
Formed in 1988, Gallon Drunk quickly garnered attention for their distinctive sound. The band was admired by the late BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who famously remarked, "They don't sound like anyone else." Musician Nick Cave also offered a succinct endorsement, describing Gallon Drunk as "Cool as fuck." The original lineup featured James Johnston, Michael Delanian, and Joe Byfield.
