Los Fabulosos Cadillacs

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs are an influential Argentine band formed in Buenos Aires in 1985. Known for their eclectic fusion of musical styles, their sound incorporates elements of ska, rocksteady, reggae, rock, jazz, salsa, folk, rap, and big band music. The band released their debut album, Bares y Fondas, in 1986.

Key Achievements and Collaborations

Throughout their career, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have achieved significant critical and commercial success. In 1998, they received a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album. Their single 'El Matador' garnered international recognition, earning an MTV Latino Video Music Award in 1994 and appearing on the soundtracks for the films Savages, Grosse Pointe Blank, and The Matador. This period marked a peak in the band's popularity, further solidified by an MTV Unplugged concert recorded on September 29, 1994.

Core members and primary songwriters Gabriel Fernandez Capello (Vicentico) on vocals and Flavio Cianciarulo on bass have been central to the band's creative output. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have also collaborated with a diverse range of renowned artists, including Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades, and Fishbone.

This same year, 'La Vida' also won the International Viewer's Choice Award (Southern Region) at the MTV Video Music Awards, an award that is no longer presented.
