Biography Rubén Albarrán

Rubén Isaac Albarrán Ortega (born 1967 in Ciudad Satélite), is a Mexican singer / musician and current member of the multi Grammy-winning rock band Café Tacvba. He's known for constant change of both image and name during various stages of his career, has taken the aliases of: Chespirito, Juan, Pinche Juan, Cosme, Anónimo Intransingente e Intolerante, Massiossare, Nrü (pronounced dshiu), Amparo Tonto Medardo In La' Kech (shortened to AT Medardo ILK), G-3, Gallo Gasss, Élfego Buendía, Rita Cantalagua, Sizu Yantra, Ixaya Mazatzin Tleyotl, Ixxi Xoo and currently Cone Cahuitl.

Besides being a part of Café Tacvba he's also done some solo work as well as participate on songs with other artists notably a few duets starting in 1995 with the song Ella for the album Guerra Gaucha by the band Enanitos Verdes.

Another early duet was in 1999 with Control Machete on the album Artilleria Pesada, Presenta with the song Danzon. Followed in 2001 by Amnesia with Inspector together with Roco of La Maldita Vecindad. In 2004 did an interpretation with Mexican singer María Barracuda of Chale. In 2008 collaborated with Kharlos on the "Sin copa y sin sopa" album a simple tune "Como Quiero a Mi Charlangas", which was nominated for a Latin Grammy.

Also in 2008, he collaborated with Lila Downs on her album Shake Away (also know as Ojo de Culebra in Latin-America) on the track Perro Negro using the alias of Ixaya Mazatzin Tleyotl.

The latest duets to date were realized with Calle 13 on No Hay Nadie Como Tu and his work for Celso Piña on his album Barrio Bravo on the song Aunque No Sea Conmigo.
