History

Brian Auger's Oblivion Express was a British jazz fusion ensemble formed in 1970 by keyboardist Brian Auger after the disbanding of Brian Auger & The Trinity and shortly after abandoning the abortive "Wassenaar Arrangement" jazz-fusion commune in a small suburb of The Hague. The ensemble cultivated the talents of several notable musicians, including future Average White Band drummers Robbie McIntosh and Steve Ferrone, as well as guitarist Jim Mullen.

After a hiatus from about 200, the Oblivion Express was revived with a 2005 recording and subsequent touring. The revised group featured Brian Auger, his son Karma Auger on drums, his daughter Savannah Auger on vocals, and Derek Frank on bass. Subsequent albums included Looking in the Eye of the World (2006) and Straight Ahead (2010).
