History Dog Moon Howl

Heavy psych-rock band based in Glasgow/Edinburgh (Scotland). Band members are Bryan Campbell (ex-13conditions) on bass/vocal, Ally Tennick (ex-Soop) on drums and Craig Hughes (otherwise known for his alt.blues/roots solo work) on guitar/vocal. The three members had also played together in the '90s in alt.rock band Smotherparty.

Formed late in 2011, the band has been playing around Scotland, releasing the demo EP Strip-Lit Hell on Channel Nowhere in May 2012. The EP and gigs have received very positive audience reactions and excellent online reviews, drawing comparisons as varied as Blue Cheer, Mark Lanegan and Howling Wolf ...

Dog Moon Howl is influenced by Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Groundhogs, Soundgarden, AC/DC, Rush, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Chasar, Pearl Jam, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rory Gallagher, Cream, Frank Zappa, Motorhead, The Cult, Queen, Dinosaur Jr., Hawkwind, Status Quo, Neil Young, ZZ Top, Taste, Rollins Band, MC5, Johnny Winter, Funkadelic, Primus, King Crimson, The Velvet Underground, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Doors.

The members of Dog Moon Howl also enjoy the work of Clutch, Fu Manchu, Queens Of The Stone Age, Blue Cheer, The White Stripes, Grinderman, Kyuss, The Mars Volta, The Black Crowes, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Them Crooked Vultures, St Vitus, Seasick Steve and Tom Waits.
