History Slow Down World

Slow Down World are a female fronted New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band from Newton Abbot.

Originally formed in Bristol 2012 at university, by students Twig (bass) and Rob (guitar). The line-up was later completed by vocalist Niall from nearby Bath Spa university and Carlo of UWE. They performed throughout the South West and released their first Demo in late 2012. In the Spring of 2013, Carlo unfortunately left due to university commitments and personal conflicts. By the summer a replacement was found, however both Rob and Niall long had ambitions to appoint the new drummer for their own project (Mouri), so there remained only one member of Slow Down World.

By late 2013 a new line up was sought and on 20/03/14, three new members were announced. Jack Lowrie on guitars, Saz Bird on vocals and Jamie Down on drums. That spring (31/03/14) Wheel of the Year was released on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and other music outlets online

In June 2014, Jamie left the band due to financial constraints and also to continue his college education, including the band Deosil. In August Jack left, citing personal problems. In November Saz left Slow Down World.

On 03/12/15 a new line up was announced. Featuring Chris Quinton on guitar (Losing Victory, Varmint Ricky and Jukebox Furies), Stephen Mackie also on guitar (I Like It Hot, The Kingstons and The Hubris), Mathew "Whits" Whitaker on drums (Western Approach, Dangerzone and I Like It Hot) and Victoria Balster as vocalist (Out of Isca). In January 2016 Victoria was dismissed from the band due to personal differences and Saz rejoined the band.
