There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Started in 1990, Republic is a successful Hungarian band, playing popular music originating in the '60s, and inspired by Hungarian performers like Hobó, LGT and Koncz Zsuzsa. Their music is a mixture of folk, pop, and rock.

2) Industrial project from Seattle in the early 80's featuring Harold Arthur McNeill, more known for his illustrations for the card game Magic: The Gathering.
