Biography Justin Broadrick

Justin Karl Michael Broadrick (born 15 August 1969, Birmingham, England) is a British singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer. He was briefly in the English grindcore band Napalm Death when he was a teenager in the mid-80s. He is best known as a founding member of the band Godflesh, one of the first bands to crossover elements of extreme metal, industrial music, psychedelic rock, industrial and dub music, influencing bands such as Ministry and Fear Factory.

Godflesh broke up in 2002 soon after the departure of fellow founding member G. Christian Green. Broadrick currently fronts the post metal band Jesu and ambient solo act Final.

Justin has also participated in a number of side projects with Kevin Martin, in a number of different styles. From the electronic ambient noise of Techno Animal and the industrial/jazzcore of God to the more rap/hip-hop-oriented Ice.

Broadrick has also maintained a parallel career as a producer, producing records and remixes for groups such as Pantera, Isis, Mogwai, and Hydra Head labelmates Pelican. Broadrick has set up record labels such as HeadDirt, Avalanche Recordings, Post Mortem Productions (briefly renamed Uprising Productions), Lo Fibre and Heartache.

So far only material labeled as Justin Broadrick is the split album with Andy Hawkins of Blind Idiot God and the split with Andrew Broder of Fog.
