Biography:

Founder of Jefferson Airplane, Marty has had an on-off relationship with the band over the years. Absent from the line-up between 1970 and 1974, 1978 and 1985, 1987-88, and 1989-92, he is known as the "love song" writer of the band. His distinctive voice and "fire and ice" relationships with both Paul Kantner and Grace Slick are, to many, what have made the band what it is now. When not recording or touring with JS-TNG, he can often be found touring with his own bands, Wolfpack and The Wild Band.

Marty Balin - Member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame , Founder of Jefferson Airplane and later joining Jefferson Starship to write and perform the chart-topping single "Miracles" is hard hard guy to peg down. Marty is always on the move. His sense of humor, his deeply emotional songs, his enthusiasm for social responsibility has charmed audiences all over the world.
