History Kotiteollisuus

Kotiteollisuus is a Finnish hard rock/metal band that was formed in 1991 in Lappeenranta, Finland. The band released its first demo tape in 1993 under the name "Hullu Ukko Ja Kotiteollisuus". The shortened name and current line-up (Jouni Hynynen, Jari Sinkkonen, Janne Hongisto) was established in 1997 when Aki Virtanen left the band.

Kotiteollisuus is said to combine "furious heavy metal with Finnish sullenness". Subjects frequently touched upon in songs are the current state of the nation, religion and mankind in general. The band members have become known for their outspokenness during interviews and shows. Especially guitarist-vocalist Jouni Hynynen is known for heckling and commenting on the audience during live shows.

Kotiteollisuus is undoubtly one of the most popular metal bands in Finland, having produced one platinum and several gold-selling albums and winning Finnish Emmys in 2003 and 2005 for best metal record (Helvetistä Itään) and best DVD (Neljän Tunnin Urakka) respectively.

Kotiteollisuus released their first compilation-cd, murheen mailla 1996 - 2007, in october 7. On album, there is a new song called ''Valomerkki''.

Kotiteollisuus released a cover album "Sotakoira" in 13.8.2008, and it contains 11 finnish cover songs.

Kotiteollisuus released their newest, self-titled album, in 2.3.2011 containing 12 new songs.
