Biography
Katie Kim a.k.a Katie Ann Sullivan, was born to working class, Irish parents in London in March 1983. The family moved back to Ireland due to the rising crime rate in London at the time and settled in Waterford. Her childhood was a relatively smooth one, given the economic crisis in Ireland at the time, where for many families times were tough.
While in primary school, Katie kept to herself and retreated into music, where in interviews, she stated she became obsessed with the band "Queen" ( and mourned her idols death incesantly in 1991 at the age of 7!)On her thirteenth birthday her mother bought her an acoustic guitar and taught her three chords, which started her writing her own compositions and only one year on, she was playing live in various small venues around Ireland. Katie states, " I look back on what i was playing now and cringe, but really at fourteen and armed with three chords i really have to appreciate what i was trying to do."
