In lieu of the private benefit dinner typically held by the organization, the conservatory is hosting its annual birthday party at the Hollywood Palladium. This change aims to create a star-studded celebration that honors the people who make up the heart and soul of the music school and the Los Angeles community it serves. Mission and Educational Impact in Los Angeles

Founded in 2001 by award-winning musicians Michael "Flea" Balzary and Keith "Tree" Barry, alongside their longtime friend Peter Weiss, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The conservatory was established to fill the gaps in music education programming throughout Los Angeles public schools. Currently, the institution provides music lessons to more than 900 students each week, addressing the decrease in arts education in the region while providing cultural enrichment to the community at large.

A core component of SCM is its thriving scholarship program, which currently serves more than 200 students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford the cost of music lessons. These scholarships provide free music lessons, instruments, supplies, ensemble classes, and access to special events.
