Behemoth Release Venom Cover Featuring Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir

On **September 4, 2026**, Behemoth shared their latest single, a cover of the Venom classic "**In League With Satan**." The track is the second single taken from the band's new studio release, **I, Scvlptor**, which was released today digitally via **Nuclear Blast Records** and physically through **Massacre Records**. The song and its accompanying music video, produced by the Polish collective **Grupa 13**, feature special guest **Shagrath** (also known as **Stian Thoresen**) of Dimmu Borgir.

Frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski explained that the idea for the cover was closely linked to the band's touring plans with Dimmu Borgir. He noted that the song choice was intended to pay tribute to the origins of the genre.

"When we were looking for a name for our tour with DIMMU BORGIR, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock'n'roll — VENOM and 'In League With Satan' perfectly fit my vision. I honestly don't remember what came first — the idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from DIMMU as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We're planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful."

The I, Scvlptor Release

**I, Scvlptor** is described as an autonomous body of work that serves as a bridge between Behemoth's foundational past and their current creative output. The release features eight previously unreleased tracks, consisting of seven new studio recordings and one live track. Nergal highlighted the importance of the release as a connecting piece for the band's discography.

"We're fucking excited about the release of 'I, Scvlptor'. Even though it's not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What's more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, 'The Shit Ov God'. That's why we see 'I, Scvlptor' as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future."

These tracks were reshaped with modern sonics while preserving their original spirit. Additionally, the release features a tribute to **Bathory** with a cover of "**The Return Of Darkness And Evil**," featuring **Sakis Tolis** of **ROTTING CHRIST**.

Commercial History and Chart Success

Behemoth's career has been marked by significant commercial growth within the extreme metal scene. The band first entered the **U.S. Billboard 200** in 2007 with **The Apostasy**, which debuted at **No. 149**. This was followed by **Evangelion** in 2009, which reached **No. 56** on the same chart.

In 2014, the band released **The Satanist**, which debuted at **No. 34** on the Billboard 200, becoming the highest-charting Black Metal or death metal album in the chart's history at that time. The album also reached **No. 1** in Poland on the **OLIS chart**. Nergal described this achievement as "unheard of" for the genre.
