The Dead South is a four-piece acoustic band hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan. Their distinctive sound is a fusion of folk, bluegrass, classical, and rock, characterized by Nate Hilts' raw vocals and driving guitar, Scott Pringle's melodic mandolin and harmonies, Colton Crawford's energetic banjo and kick drum, and Danny Kenyon's prominent cello lines. This combination results in a modern, authentic, and foot-stomping acoustic music experience.

Since forming, The Dead South has been actively building their career. They released their debut EP, The Ocean Went Mad and We Were to Blame, in June 2013. This was followed by their first full-length album, Good Company, in April 2014. The release of Good Company garnered significant attention, leading to a showcase at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. There, they caught the eye of Jörg Tresp from Germany's Devil Duck Records, who signed the band, released their album in Europe, and subsequently booked them for numerous international tours.
