Fucked Up is a highly influential hardcore punk band that emerged from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the early 2000s. Known for their experimental approach, prolific output, and provocative imagery, the band has carved a unique path in the punk landscape.
Formed and playing their first shows in 2001, the initial lineup featured members like 10,000 Marbles (guitar), Concentration Camp (vocals), and Mustard Gas (bass). Pink Eyes (also known as Mr. Damian) soon took over vocal duties, with Mr. Jo on drums and Young Governor joining as a third guitarist in 2007. Following their initial demo, Fucked Up eschewed traditional full-length releases, opting instead for a steady stream of 7-inch singles. This strategy, reminiscent of early punk vinyl aesthetics, garnered significant attention and praise in punk fanzines, despite some distributors' reluctance to carry the format.
