History
The Last Dinner Party is a British alternative rock band formed in London in 2021. The group comprises Abigail Morris (vocals), Lizzie Mayland (vocals, guitar), Emily Roberts (lead guitar, mandolin, flute), Georgia Davies (bass), and Aurora Nishevci (keyboards, vocals).
Morris, Davies, and Mayland first met in London in 2020, prior to beginning university. Their shared experiences attending concerts in the city led to the decision to form a band. Initially named "The Dinner Party," the moniker was conceived from the notion of an extravagant gathering celebrating with a hedonistic feast. The name was subsequently modified to "The Last Dinner Party" to prevent confusion with the American hip-hop supergroup of the same name.
The band signed with Island Records and released their debut single, "Nothing Matters," in April 2023. Three additional singles followed throughout 2023. Their first full-length album, Prelude to Ecstasy, was released in February 2024.
The Last Dinner Party's music and live performances are recognized for their distinctive baroque-pop aesthetic and sound.
