History

The Australian Pink Floyd Show

The Australian Pink Floyd Show is a renowned Pink Floyd tribute band, formed in South Australia in 1988. The group is widely recognized for its meticulous recreations of Pink Floyd's live performances, aiming to capture the authentic concert experience.

Authenticity and Unique Achievements

Distinguishing themselves from other tribute acts, The Australian Pink Floyd Show is noted for replicating David Gilmour's specific guitar setup. This includes the rare effects box used to produce the distinctive whale sounds in the song "Echoes," an instrument reportedly one of only four in existence, with the other three owned by Gilmour himself.

Notable Performances and Collaborations

The band's caliber has been recognized through significant engagements. They performed at David Gilmour's 50th birthday celebration in 1996. A particularly memorable event occurred on November 26, 2001, at London's Royal Albert Hall, where they were joined by the choir from Islington Green School for a performance of "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)." It is reported that Roger Waters attended this specific concert.

The Wall Production and Touring

In 2008, the band embarked on a comprehensive production of Pink Floyd's iconic album, "The Wall," bringing the elaborate stage show to audiences worldwide.
