Mika Todd

Mika Todd, who is half American and half Japanese, was born in Hawaii. Her father, Johnny Todd, is a famous Australian-born American jazz pianist.

During her high school years in Hawaii, she formed a singing group with some friends and performed at small restaurants in Waikiki. Makoto, a musical acquaintance of producer Tsunku, saw them perform and convinced his former bandmate to sign them into his growing Hello! Project empire. Mika and her group headed to Japan in 1999 and became Coconuts Musume.
