Basement is an alternative rock band formed in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. The group comprises five members: Alex, Andrew, Duncan, James, and Ronan.
Musical Journey and Releases
Signed to Run For Cover Records, Basement has built a notable discography since their inception. Their early work includes a 2009 demo and the EP Songs About The Weather, released in 2010. They followed this with four full-length albums: I Wish I Could Stay Here (2011), Colourmeinkindness (2012), Promise Everything (2016), and Beside Myself (2018).
Hiatus and Return
Following their "This is Goodbye" tour, which concluded with sold-out shows in Leeds and London in November 2012, the band announced a hiatus due to personal commitments. In a statement released on January 29th, 2014, Basement expressed their intention to return. The members explained that while they initially anticipated a prolonged break to focus on their professional lives, circumstances had changed, allowing them to dedicate time to music again. They announced plans for shows that summer, expressing excitement to reconnect with their fans.
