History

The Lemon Twigs are an American pop and rock band hailing from Long Island, New York. The group is primarily driven by the songwriting and performance talents of brothers Brian D’Addario and Michael D’Addario. For live performances, they are joined by rotating instrumentalists Reza Matin and Danny Ayala, who contribute on drums, guitar, vocals, keyboards, and bass.

Described by The Times as a contemporary act that blends the harmonic richness of soft rock bands like Wings and Supertramp with the underground appeal of Big Star and the Ramones, and the dramatic flair of Broadway musicals, The Lemon Twigs are known for their distinctive sound. The Guardian has highlighted the "humbling beauty of their songs" and their "sumptuous harmonies."

The band signed with the esteemed British label 4AD in 2015. Their debut album, Do Hollywood, was released in October 2016 to significant critical praise. Several prominent figures in pop music have publicly acknowledged their admiration for The Lemon Twigs, including Elton John, The Zombies, Boy George, Laura Marling, Gilbert O'Sullivan, and Gary Brooker of Procol Harum. They have since collaborated with a diverse range of artists such as Todd Rundgren, Sean Ono Lennon, Foxygen, Weyes Blood, Matt Jardine, Mac DeMarco, and Stephen Kalinich.
