History

Holly Lapsley Fletcher, known professionally as Låpsley, first gained attention as a teenager for her self-produced, minimalist electronic music, which she shared on SoundCloud. Her debut album, Long Way Home, was released in 2016 by XL Recordings and received critical praise. The singles ‘Hurt Me’ and ‘Falling Short’ established her as a significant emerging songwriting talent. Additionally, DJ Koze's remix of ‘Operator’ became a popular dance track.

Artistic Evolution

Låpsley's second album, Through Water, represented a transition from her teenage years into adulthood and from an introspective producer to a more self-assured artist. The lead single, ‘Womxn’, openly expressed her queer identity and signaled a more confident and energetic musical direction.

Recent Work and Future Projects

In addition to her own music, Holly Lapsley has found success as a songwriter and topliner within the music industry, signing publishing deals with Young and Sony. She has recently returned with new original material, starting with the single ‘‘32 Floors’. This track serves as a bold reintroduction to Låpsley as an artist, exploring themes of falling in love and the intensity of obsession, with more new music anticipated soon.
