History
Amelie Lens, born May 31, 1990, is a Belgian DJ, record producer, and co-owner of the Lenske record label. She is known for her contributions to electronic music, particularly in the techno genre.
Lens is signed to the Second State record label, an imprint by Pan-Pot, where she has released multiple singles and EPs. Her 2017 release, the Contradiction EP, achieved notable success. She has also produced music for labels such as Drumcode and Elevate.
Her live performances are characterized by bass-heavy minimal techno, incorporating elements of classic acid and tribal house alongside modern European techno sounds. Lens has performed widely across Europe and North America, with notable appearances including LaPlage de Glazart in Paris in 2017 and the Awakenings festival in the Netherlands in 2018.
During her live sets, Lens frequently utilizes a Pioneer effects box to enhance her mixes. This device allows her to add layers and transform tracks with its built-in sampler and custom effects. She often selects tracks specifically designed to complement the effects box, favoring stripped-down or minimalistic percussion-driven grooves for peak-time sets.
For her studio productions, Lens primarily works with Ableton Live, a music sequencer and digital audio workstation. She also employs the Elektron Analog Four synthesizer and sequencer in her creative process.
