Spinnerette

Spinnerette is the musical project of Australian rock musician Brody Dalle, widely recognized as the vocalist and guitarist for the former punk band The Distillers. Dalle has clarified that Spinnerette is not a traditional band but rather a fluid collaboration, stating, "Spinnerette isn't a band, it's me and whichever musicians I want to work with at the time." The project has featured collaborations with notable musicians such as Tony Bevilacqua (The Distillers), Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Eleven), and Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Eleven).

Project Genesis and Debut

Brody Dalle first announced the emergence of Spinnerette in March 2007. This project marked a significant step in her solo endeavors, preceding her official solo debut under the name Brody Dalle in 2012.

Early Releases and Debut Album

Spinnerette released their debut digital EP, Ghetto Love, on December 11th, 2008, through their official website. The EP contained four tracks: "Ghetto Love," "Valium Knights," "Distorting a Code," and "Bury My Heart." A music video for the title track, "Ghetto Love," was directed by Liam Lynch.

The project's full-length debut album, also titled Spinnerette, was made available for streaming on their MySpace page on June 9th. The album received its official release in the UK on June 15th and in the US on June 23rd, 2009. The lead single from the album, "Baptized By Fire," was accompanied by a music video, with its release anticipated for July 2009, as confirmed by Dalle via Twitter.
