Erik Truffaz, born in Chêne-Bougeries, Switzerland, on April 3, 1960, is a French jazz trumpeter recognized for his innovative fusion of jazz with hip hop, rock, and electronic dance music.

Truffaz first garnered significant international acclaim with his second release on the Blue Note label, The Dawn. This album, a collaboration with Patrick Muller, Marcello Giuliani, and Mark Erbetta, marked a pivotal moment in his career.
