Annerley Gordon is an English singer who gained prominence in the electronic pop and Europop scenes in the late 1990s. After relocating to Italy in the late 1980s, she was discovered and frequently lent her voice as the lead vocalist on numerous dance music singles released under various pseudonyms.
Musical Aliases and Early Career
Gordon's work under different artist names included Charme, Anne, Ally & Jo, DJ Space'C, A Kay BJ, Alex, Wienna, and TH Express. These projects established her presence in the European dance music market.
Solo Success with "2 Times"
Her debut solo single, "2 Times," was released in 1998 and marked a significant breakthrough. The track achieved widespread international success, reaching the Top 10 in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Australia, and New Zealand. It also charted at number two in Belgium and the UK, and climbed to number one in Denmark. The song's popularity extended to the United States, where it was featured as the theme song in the 2001 film Head Over Heels.
Subsequent Releases and Hiatus
Gordon's second single, "Voices," achieved moderate success, reaching the Top 10 in the Czech Republic, Denmark, and Spain. Despite releasing further material, she largely withdrew from the mainstream music scene thereafter. In 2007, she returned with a new album, So Alive, and a single titled "Catches Your Love," both of which were made available as digital downloads.
