Pray TV
Hailing from a West Essendon garage in the late 1980s, Pray TV emerged from a remote corner of Melbourne with a shared fascination for the darker currents of pop music. The band released four albums during their existence, ultimately disbanding in the mid-nineties.
Musical Evolution and Demise
Their sound, initially ahead of its time, eventually transitioned from being pre-fashionable to post-fashionable. This shift, coupled with the transition from youthful defiance to the resignation of their thirties, marked the end of the band's journey.
Performance History
Pray TV's performance circuit included international dates in New York and Los Angeles before they had played extensively elsewhere in Australia. Their local gigs were primarily confined to a handful of Melbourne's less-than-glamorous pubs that were willing to host them.
