Keisha Buchanan is a pivotal figure in the history of the English girl group Sugababes, recognized as a co-founding member. She was the sole original member to stay with the group throughout its initial formation until her departure in 2009. Buchanan has continued her musical journey, remaining with the same record label and preparing to release new material as a solo artist.
Born in London, England, to Jamaican parents, Keisha Buchanan displayed a passion for singing from a young age. Her formative musical connections began in Kingsbury, where she met Mutya Buena during their primary school years. At the age of thirteen, Buchanan and Buena encountered Siobhan Donaghy at a party, a meeting that led to the formation of their band. By 1998, the trio had secured a record deal.
