History

Hannah Spearritt

Hannah Louise Spearritt (born April 1, 1981) is an English actress and former singer, best known for her time as a member of the highly successful pop group S Club 7.

S Club 7 Stardom

Spearritt was a core member of S Club 7 from 1999 to 2003. During this period, the group achieved significant mainstream success, starring in their own television series, including Miami 7 (1999), L.A. 7 (2000), Hollywood 7 (2001), and Viva S Club (2002). Their career was marked by three major UK tours, two BRIT Awards, and numerous other accolades. Alongside bandmate Rachel Stevens, Spearritt was a prominent figure in popular culture, frequently appearing in magazines and ranking in FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Women polls between 2000 and 2004. A significant milestone during her time with S Club 7 was the group's feature film, Seeing Double, released in early 2003, which provided Spearritt with her first cinematic acting experience.

Personal Life and Group Transition

In October 2001, Spearritt publicly disclosed her relationship with fellow S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole. Cattermole departed the group in 2002, after which S Club 7 rebranded as simply S Club before disbanding in May 2003. Spearritt and Cattermole's relationship continued until early 2006.

Transition to Acting

Towards the end of S Club's existence, Spearritt pursued acting opportunities. While her management reported she was ill, she was in Los Angeles auditioning for a role in the film Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London. She secured the part and began filming shortly after leaving the band. In March 2004, Spearritt took on a role in the horror film Seed of Chucky, a move seen by some as an effort to diversify from her earlier pop image. Following this, she took a break from the entertainment industry to travel and spend time with her family.

Post-S Club Career

Spearritt made her acting comeback in November 2005 with a guest role in the BBC sitcom Blessed, appearing as a member of a fictional girl band in two episodes. In December 2005, she participated in the West End musical Snow! The Musical, which unfortunately closed after only three weeks due to poor ticket sales. In February 2006, it was announced that Spearritt had secured a lead role in the ITV science fiction drama series Primeval. She portrayed Abby Maitland, a reptile enthusiast drawn into time-travel adventures. The series premiered on February 10, 2007. Later in 2006, Spearritt filmed a guest appearance in an episode of ITV1's Agatha Christie's Marple, titled "At Bertram's Hotel," which aired on September 23, 2007.
