Remix

Remix was a prominent Latvian rock band formed in 1985, initially conceived as a studio project for Latvian Radio. The group quickly evolved into one of the most popular touring rock acts in the USSR and beyond, recognized for the exceptional musicianship of its members.

Formation and Early Years

Founded by highly skilled musicians, Remix's initial lineup featured Rodrigo Fomins (also known as Igo) on lead vocals, Aivars Hermanis on guitars, Jevgenijs Ščapovs on bass guitar (until 1988), Uldis Marhilēvičs on keyboards and vocals, Vilnis Krieviņš on percussion, and Harijs Bass on keyboards (until 1986). Eduards Glotovs took over bass guitar duties from 1988 onwards. Their collective talent was the driving force behind their widespread acclaim throughout Latvia, the entire USSR, and even parts of Eastern and Western Europe.

Later Activities and Legacy

In 1992, the band transitioned into a group named Riga, which disbanded after a year of performing in the USA. Remix reunited in 1995 to record a song for their 10-year anniversary, titled "Release Me Now," for which they also produced a music video. In 2003, a comprehensive Remix DVD was released, featuring all their music videos, concert footage, and member interviews. The band celebrated their 21st anniversary with a concert in Jūrmala at the Dzintari concert hall in the summer of 2006.
