Serious Drinking was a humorous punk rock band hailing from Norwich, England. The group's repertoire frequently explored themes of football and drinking, delivered with a distinctive punk rock edge.

Formation and Early Days

The band officially formed in February 1981. Their name was inspired by a headline from an interview with the punk band The Cockney Rejects featured in Sounds magazine. Many of the founding members connected through their time at the University of East Anglia.
