Invisible Limits emerged in 1985, initially serving as Thomas Lüdke's first musical project. Following the release of their initial two 12-inch singles, 'Love is a Kind of Mystery' and 'Devil Dance', Lüdke departed the group due to diverging musical visions, subsequently forming The Invincible Spirit. The band Invisible Limits continued its activities as a trio.
