History

Lodger

Finnish Indie Band

Lodger is a Finnish indie band formed in 2002 by Teemu Merilä. While not widely known internationally, the band has cultivated a dedicated online following, largely due to their distinctive flash music videos. Hannes Häyhä, the band's lyricist, is responsible for the design of all their videos, beginning with their debut "Doorsteps."

Breakthrough and Discography

The band achieved significant recognition with the viral flash video 'I Love Death,' which was subsequently followed by other popular videos such as 'God Has Rejected The Western World' and '24h Candy Machine.' Their debut album, Hi-Fi High Lights Down Low, is available for purchase online through various retailers, including Stupido Records and Amazon Marketplace.

Lodger's second album, How Vulgar, met with a mixed reception from critics and fans. Despite this, tracks like "Friends" and "Brunswick Centre" are considered highlights of their work. The band's third and most recent album, Honeymoon Is Over, is described by Merilä as the album How Vulgar should have been, featuring a more intense and harsher musical style compared to their earlier releases.

Online Presence and Touring

Fans can find Lodger's flash videos on their official website, lodger.fi. For news on tours and updates, their MySpace page, www.myspace.com/lodger, is regularly updated.

In 2007, Lodger undertook a brief tour in America, with potential appearances in the UK also occurring in the same year.
