Parabellum

Formed in Medellín, Colombia, in 1981, Parabellum is widely recognized as the first extreme metal band from Colombia and one of the earliest in South America. Their sound is characterized by raw, apocalyptic, and blasphemous noise, drawing comparisons to bands like Hellhammer, Sarcófago, Poison (Germany), and Bathory, yet distinguished by a dirtier, more vicious edge and chilling doom undertones.

Parabellum is a key part of the "Ultra Metal" musical movement that emerged in Medellín during the mid-1980s. This scene also included notable bands such as Blasfemia, Nekromantie, Astaroth, Reencarnación, and Profanación.
