History

Angelika Express

Angelika Express is a German punk rock band formed in Cologne in 2003. The group's initial lineup featured Robert Drakogiannakis on vocals and guitar, Jens Bachmann on bass guitar, and Alex Jezdinsky on drums. The band took a hiatus in 2005, during which Drakogiannakis pursued his solo project, Planetakis, while Bachmann and Jezdinsky collaborated in their group, Overschmidt.

Reformation and New Material

In 2008, Robert Drakogiannakis revitalized the Angelika Express project by releasing seventeen new songs for free download via the band's official website. The reformed lineup solidified around Drakogiannakis, with Dani Hilterhaus (LiLi) joining on bass and Mirco "Caddy" Cardeneo (known for his work with Casanovas Schwule Seite, The Wohlstandskinder, and Schrottgrenze) on drums. This trio began performing the newly released material live.

Musical Style and Fan Engagement

Angelika Express's music is characterized by its punk rock sound, infused with pop music sensibilities. All of the band's lyrics are written and performed in German. The band has explored innovative concepts for releasing new music, including plans for a new album that allows fans to participate as shareholders, offering a unique way to support their creative endeavors.
