Darling Kandie emerged as a collaborative project uniting two distinctive figures from the alternative music scene: Groovie Mann of Thrill Kill Kult, known for his unconventional lyrical prowess, and William Tucker, a producer and guitarist with a notable history in bands like Pigface and Ministry. Together, they embarked on an exploration of a dark, dreamlike sonic landscape characterized by themes of decadence and decay.

The project's sound is defined by a fusion of psychotic guitar work, unconventional vocal samples, prominent horn arrangements, and driving rhythms. This combination creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere, with Groovie Mann's distorted yet alluring vocals weaving through Tucker's complex and often chaotic musical arrangements.
