Crowsdell was an indie-pop band originating from Jacksonville, Florida. The core lineup featured Shannon Wright on guitar, Paul Howell on bass, and Laurie Anne Wall handling the drums.
The band initially released singles on two independent labels before securing a deal with Big Cat Records in 1994. Their debut full-length CD, titled Dreamette, was recorded with the assistance of Stephen Malkmus, known for his work with the band Pavement.
