Panos Kanoutas (Scorpio)
Scorpio is the electronic music project of Panos Kanoutas, an electronic producer hailing from Corfu Island, Greece. Kanoutas is known for his distinctive dark, emotional electro techno sound. During his piano studies, he was actively involved in organizing and developing experimental percussion projects in Greece, encompassing rock and jazz genres.
Musical Journey and Releases
Relocating to Athens to pursue Music Technology and Sound Engineering, Kanoutas connected with Leon Segka of Ntrop Recordings. This collaboration led to Scorpio's initial releases. Following his debut album, Elektra’s Eyes, on Ntrop Recordings, Scorpio began releasing music through international labels. His subsequent singles, including “Computer Reality” and “Uninvited Visitor,” solidified his reputation for a unique, dark, and emotionally resonant electro style.
Live Performances and Radio Presence
Scorpio has performed live extensively in clubs and festivals across Greece and internationally, with notable appearances at Trend Club in Berlin and Nothing Hill Arts Club in London. He has also featured at Synch Festival, a prominent electronic music and digital arts festival in Greece. Additionally, Kanoutas hosts radio shows on web stations worldwide, reaching audiences in the USA and Europe.
Live Act Style
Scorpio's live performances are characterized by the creation of dark atmospheres, showcasing a unique electro style that incorporates live vocoder, laptop performance, synthesizers, electro strings, broken beats, and techno grooves.
Upcoming Release
The EP “Enemy Detector,” Scorpio’s latest work, is set for release via Black Montanas. The release will feature a special remix by label owner Equitant.
