History

Intermix

Intermix was an electronic music project active in the 1990s, featuring the collaborative efforts of Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber. While known for their work in other influential electronic music acts, Intermix offered a distinct sonic direction.

Musical Style and Influences

In contrast to their other prominent projects such as Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit, and Delerium, Intermix leaned more heavily into techno influences. This distinguished it from the mellow, ambient soundscapes of Delerium and the distinctly industrial style of Front Line Assembly.

Discography and Evolution

The initial two albums released under the Intermix moniker bore a strong resemblance to their related project Delerium, though they were characterized by a more pronounced techno presence. However, the third Intermix album marked a significant departure. This later work explored a more ambient, ethnic, and tribal sound, to the extent that it could have plausibly been released as a Synæsthesia record or an early Delerium release.
