Sinergy was a Finnish power metal band active from 1997 to 2005. The group was founded by vocalist Kimberly Goss and guitarist Jesper Strömblad, with the initial concept of creating a female-fronted metal band.
The idea for Sinergy first emerged when Goss, then a keyboardist for Dimmu Borgir, met Strömblad, guitarist for In Flames, during a world tour. They discussed forming a female-fronted metal project, but scheduling conflicts prevented immediate action. After leaving Dimmu Borgir and relocating to Sweden, Goss decided to bring the project to fruition. The initial lineup featured Goss, Strömblad, bassist Sharlee D’Angelo (Arch Enemy, Mercyful Fate), drummer Ronny Milianowicz, and guitarist Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom).
