Naomi Sharon is a Dutch-Caribbean singer and songwriter whose music blends atmospheric textures with soulful storytelling. Born in Rotterdam on March 4, 1995, she spent years honing her craft within the performing arts before gaining international recognition. In early 2023, Sharon made history as the first female artist signed to OVO Sound, the record label co-founded by Drake. This partnership marked a significant turning point in her career, positioning her as a prominent new voice in the global R&B scene.
Sharon’s debut studio album, Obsidian, was released in October 2023 to critical acclaim. The project explores complex emotional landscapes, focusing on themes of love, heartbreak, and the subsequent journey toward healing. Her vocal delivery is characterized by a rich, velvety low register that has drawn frequent comparisons to the legendary Sade. Critics have praised the album for its genre-defying nature, noting how it seamlessly integrates various musical traditions into a cohesive narrative.
