History
Hannah Collins, known professionally as Scene Queen, is an American singer-songwriter signed to Hopeless Records. She gained significant recognition for popularizing "Bimbocore," a musical style she coined that merges feminist themes with metalcore elements. Scene Queen first achieved widespread attention on TikTok, amassing over 230,000 followers by April 2022. Her debut EP, titled Bimbocore, was released on April 29, 2022.
Scene Queen describes her music as "bimbocore," a subgenre of metalcore and alternative rock. This style is characterized by its fusion of reclaimed hyperfeminine aesthetics and vocal distortions found in genres like hyperpop, combined with metalcore-inspired breakdowns. Her track "Pretty in Pink" exemplifies this by blending screamo vocals with melodies reminiscent of nursery rhymes. "Pink Rover" incorporates metalcore breakdowns alongside trap-synth production, while "Pink Panther" is an alt-pop song that samples the theme from The Pink Panther and explores themes of female desire. Her visual aesthetic draws inspiration from Y2K fashion icons such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, often featuring blonde hair and hot pink attire.
