History

Stephen Christopher Sanchez (born November 3, 2002) is an American singer-songwriter from Nashville. He gained initial traction by posting covers on TikTok, notably a rendition of Cage the Elephant's "Cigarette Daydreams" in June 2020, which helped him build a following of over 122,000 users on the platform.

Early Career and Breakthrough

His early work caught the attention of fellow singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker, who offered to produce the official version of Sanchez's song "Lady by the Sea," released in July 2020. This collaboration led to Sanchez signing with Republic Records.

Debut EP and Chart Success

In October 2021, Sanchez released his debut extended play, What Was, Not Now, produced in collaboration with Ian Fitchuk. A significant breakthrough came with the single "Until I Found You," released on September 1, 2021. The song achieved considerable success, reaching No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 14 on the UK Singles Chart.

Further Releases and Performances

Sanchez continued to release new music, including the single "Missing You" with Ashe on November 4, 2022, and "Evangeline" on January 25, 2023, which preceded his headline tour. He performed "Evangeline" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the tour. His subsequent single, "Only Girl," was released on April 28, 2023.

A notable moment in his career occurred on June 25, 2023, when Sanchez joined Elton John on stage at Glastonbury Festival to perform "Until I Found You."
