Thee Sacred Souls emerged from a shared love for classic soul music. Multi-instrumentalists Alex Garcia and Sal Samano began collaborating in 2019, crafting rhythm tracks in their homes. Garcia found his niche on the drums, providing a gentle yet driving pulse, while Samano developed intricate basslines that anchored their sound.
The band's distinctive sound coalesced with the arrival of vocalist Josh Lane. Having relocated from Sacramento, Lane brought a voice honed through dedicated study, capable of delivering soulful, emotive lyrics with a weightless quality. His smooth delivery, reminiscent of soul legends, perfectly complemented Garcia and Samano's rhythmic foundation, officially forming Thee Sacred Souls.
