Louane: A French Star's Journey from Television to Chart-Topping Success

Louane, born Anne Peichert on November 26, 1996, is a prominent French actress and singer who rose to fame through her participation in musical competitions and a critically acclaimed acting role.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Louane's musical journey began at a young age. At 12 years old, she appeared on the French music competition show *L'École des stars* in 2008. Her national profile significantly increased in 2013 when she joined the second season of *The Voice: la plus belle voix*. Her audition performance of William Sheller's "Un homme heureux" impressed all four coaches, and she ultimately chose to join Louis Bertignac's team. Throughout the competition, Louane showcased her vocal talent, progressing through the blind auditions, musical battles, and live rounds. While she reached the semi-finals, her journey on *The Voice* concluded with a fifth to eighth-place finish. Following the show, she participated in an extensive tour across France with other finalists.

Acting Breakthrough and Critical Acclaim

Louane's talent caught the attention of director Éric Lartigau, who cast her in the leading role of Paula in his 2014 film *La Famille Bélier*. The film centered on a teenage girl who is the only hearing member of a deaf family. Her portrayal of Paula, who sings several Michel Sardou songs including "Je vole," earned her the award for "Most Promising Actress" at the 40th César Awards, solidifying her status as a rising star in both music and film.

Recording Career and Chart Success

Louane's debut solo album, Chambre 12, was released on March 2, 2015, and achieved immense success, becoming the best-selling album in France for that year. The album's lead single, "Jour 1," reached the top 10, while "Avenir" climbed to the number one spot on the French charts in March 2015. Her self-titled second album, released in 2017, also debuted at the top of the French album charts. After a deluxe edition in 2018, she took a break before returning in 2020 with Joie de Vivre, which peaked at number six on the French charts.

Continued Evolution and International Recognition

In 2022, Louane released "Secret," the lead single from her fourth album, *Sentiments*. The song gained significant traction on French TikTok, marking her return to the top 10 singles chart for the first time since 2015. Following two deluxe versions of *Sentiments* in 2023, her fifth album, Solo, was released in November 2024, preceded by the single "La Pluie." In January 2025, Louane was internally selected to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. Her song "maman" was unveiled during halftime at the Stade de France and ultimately secured 7th place with 230 points in the grand final.
